I was brought up in Australia, Ireland, and in Leeds in England, and have lived in London for over 25 years.

I have a Social Sciences degree from the University of York.

I worked in Royal Mail for over 25 years, and currently work as an accountant for a London local authority.

Interests include: French Revolution especially Marat and Babeuf, slavery and abolitions of slavery, Marxism especially Kautsky, Jaurés and Martov, history and politics of Britain and the U.S.A., G.D.H. Cole, John Strachey, Irish history, history of Brazil, Russian politics and history from Herzen onwards, history of Italian unification including Garibaldi and the Papal States.
