Associate Professor of Biology, Queens College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. B.A. with Distinction in Biology, Swarthmore College; Ph.D. in Biology, Stanford University, National Science Foundation Predoctoral Fellow; National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California, Berkeley and U.S.D.A. Plant Gene Expression Center. Current research covers plant molecular biology, genetics, development, and physiological responses to light stimuli. My lab's focus is on the red/far-red-absorbing phytochromes, their signal transduction pathways, and their functional interactions with blue light receptors and other environmental stimuli such as carbon and nitrogen sources. The primary models we are using include Arabidopsis thaliana, Ceratopteris richardii, and Physcomitrella patens.
