Terrence Julien, MD, is the Director of Neuro-oncology at West Virginia University. Dr. Julien is a fellowship-trained surgical neuro-oncologist, with clinical expertise in malignant brain tumors and basic science research interests in viral-mediated gene therapy against malignant gliomas inducing apoptosis and providing radio sensitizers for gliomas. His other basic science interests include immunotherapy against malignant gliomas and angiogenesis work related to malignant gliomas, and clinical expertise in stereotactic volumetric resection of brain tumors using computer-assisted neuronavigation, stereotactic radiosurgery and intensity modulated radiation therapy for intracranial pathology such as brain tumors, and clinical trials for malignant brain tumors. Dr. Julien also specializes and has interest in the spinal degenerative disorders, congenital disorders, trauma, and neoplasia which includes extramedullary and intramedullary spinal pathology and complex spinal reconstruction.
