Dave Hillgrove is a 30-year veteran of public high school education, with an emphasis in the social sciences and instructional technology. Mr. Hillgrove serves in Henrico County Public Schools (Richmond, VA), which was the first public school system to deploy a one-to-one computer initiative fully across grades 6 through 12. 33,000 Apple laptop computers were initially put into place for four years; after the initial contract, Windows-platform computers were deployed at the high school level, while middle schools renewed their Macintosh contract for an additional four years.
After serving four years as classroom teacher (AP US History, International Baccalaureate History of the Americas; Honors US Government), Dave was promoted to the post of Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (I.T.R.T.) and posted at a middle school. His role is to provide instructional technology support to a faculty of 85+ teaching staff, and to guide curriculum to a full use of computer-supported, collaborative education.
