User:Chris Barltrop
Having begun his working life as an actor, Chris Barltrop took a 'fill-in' job with a circus in 1973, and discovered the magical attraction of the sawdust ring. Since then, he's worked as ringmaster and manager for circuses in Great Britain, Europe, and New Zealand. Chris's top jobs were with Gerry Cottle's Circuses, and for several years as Ringmaster, Director and General Manager for the Moscow State Circus touring the UK. He's worked with Contemporary circus companies too, so his interest is across the board. Chris is a Councillor of the performers' trade union Equity, acts as Press Officer for the European Circus Association, and is currently Chairman of the group of circus people discussing policy on performing aniamls with the UK Government. Chris Barltrop also writes and broadcasts.
