I am a student at Wabash college in Crawfordsville Indiana, where I am, as of spring 2007, a sophomore. My greatest hope is to contribute to environmental protection and encouragement of sustainable living practices. The best major I could come up with, for the time being, in support of my goals and my own interests, is philosophy and chemistry. I don't think I'm quite good enough at chemistry to be a major, but I'm not ruling it out. Philosophically I've really enjoyed reading DeCarte's Meditations on First Philosophy, Kant's Prolegonema, Hume's Enquiry, and dialogues of Plato. I'm involved with a fledgling environmental group on campus, striving to improve campus recycling and maintain our campus bikes program. I have several other interests that I often find myself avidly engaged in or reading about, instead of doing my homework. My diversions often include singing and the study of voice, the life of Nikola Tesla, the voyage of Ernest Shackleton, origami, swimming, biking, chasing squirrels, theater, somethingawful.com, looking at unusual geological features, cryptozoology, my excellent girlfriend, and praying to the Christian God.
