I am currently a researcher in the field of medically relevant bacterial biofilm research. My work is on the interaction of host and pathogen in chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers. Because the current "standard of care" is severely lacking for these types of wounds, I am currently working on a biofilm focused treatment. I received my PhD in molecular innate immunology. I consider myself a bit of a renaissance woman, or Homo Universalis, in that my interests are varied and my education perpetual. I would like to vote for a president and vice president who read more of the Economist than I do.
