Lori Silfen has worked as a technical writer and editor for over 25 years, on a wide variety of publications. She went into the technical writing and editing field because of her great love of language, science, and technology. Although she majored in English in college, she also took a broad range of science and math courses to give herself a solid foundation in the sciences. For 11 years, she worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), the main center for NASA's unmanned space program. Since then, she has focused primarily on the educational software field.
