Published writer/poet/ video journalist born in Brooklyn, New York from a family of nine. Her parents migrated from New Orleans, Louisiana in the 1950's. Ms. Kelly is an honors graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Mo, attended the University of Ghana in Legon, West Africa. She conducted field work during her junior year in the Somali Republic. Pat graduated from Columbia University, in New York, earning her masters in Communication, Computing, and Technology in Education. Ms. Kelly has published in ESSENCE, CRAWDADDY, EAGLE & SWAN, UNIQUE NY, and poetry in BROWN UNIVERSITY'S BLACKS ON PAPER, won numerous awards(Dean's List, Black Scholar Honor Woman of the Year, Phi Delta Kappa Columbia), as well as publisher of the NOMAD REVIEW. She currently works as a Library/Media Specialist for the New York City Board of Education. Her writing/photography has won awards with the INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY SOCIETY, and Pat has self-published three books of her work, "New Orleans Roots," The Lost Boyz Photo Gallery", and "Year Abroad in Africa." Ms. Kelly lives in New York with her family.
