My name is Yuri Mataev (lame way to begin, I know). I'm an undergraduate student at Hartwick College (at the time of writing, anyway; this may change in the near future), double-majoring in Chemistry and Biology. I joined Citizendium because I love Wikipedia, contribute to it quite frequently and think that Citizendium has the superior concept.
At my tender age, I can hardly claim any area or degree of expertise, but I also believe that I know something about something and contribute where I can. My eventual goal is to become a medical doctor, and I'm interested in anything chemistry-biochemistry-biology related. I have interests in history, philosophy and, consequently, politics. I'm also Russian by birth and lived a lot of my life in Israel, so I can provide some insight into those cultures.
A word about politics: I'm extremely anti-socialist ("libertarian", I guess, can be used to desribe me, though I insist on "anti-socialist"). Occasionally, I find myself inserting very sarcastic, caustic and/or downright provocative remarks on socialism-related pages in Wikipedia. If you catch me doing this here, please reprimand me.
That's all, folks.
