I have been working as Processing Archivist at the Archives and Special
Collections Department of the New Mexico State University Library since
January 2007, and before that I was working at the University of
Pittsburgh's Archives Service Center while pursuing my Master's Degree
in Library and Information Science at that university (received August
2006). I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics with a minor in
Spanish from Brigham Young University (received April 2001). I take
care of the Rio Grande Historical Collections, which comprise hundreds
of primary source collections dealing with the history of New Mexico
and the US-Mexico border regions. I have long had personal interests
in history and the American Southwest. I have professional interests
in collaborative strategies for archival work, promoting democratic
uses of archival or other historical records, effects of media on
culture and the documentation of political activism.
