Sue is a graduate of Waynesburg College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She has had the opportunity to work with teachers at several local schools in Greene and Washington counties as well as complete a service learning project through the Bowlby Library children’s department. Sue is also certified as a tutor through the College Reading and Learning Association, is a member of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges (2005), and is working toward the completion of a Master of Education degree in the near future.

Ms. Wise currently is the Assistant Director of the Library of Congress’ Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS, formerly known as An Adventure of the American Mind) program at Waynesburg College. The purpose of TPS is to aid teachers in accessing and utilizing the primary source documents found at the Library of Congress Web site. Teaching with Primary Sources strives to provide teachers with the tools for developing critical thinking skills in today’s students, thus enabling students to develop opinions about information that they encounter. Sue is actively involved in the development of the Library of Congress’ Virtual Institute, designed to allow educators from across the country learn best practices in teaching with primary sources.

Sue is devoted to the mission of educating the future citizenry of the United States and the children who will influence the future of the World at large. Sue is married to her husband, Jim, and has two daughters, Tara and Emily. She has devoted her entire adult life to guiding and educating children and to educating adults about how to support children, their rights and their needs.
